Marie Cancienne

Marie Buchmann Cancienne was called home on Sunday March 6, 2016 at the age of  89. She was the daughter of the late Earl and Harriet Buchmann. Marie was preceded in death by her husband Fred W. Cancienne Sr., her oldest daughter Marilyn C. Bagnell and her three brothers Earl, William and Gerald. Marie was a devoted mother to Clifford, Marilyn (Larry Bagnell), Arthur (Kerry), Freddie Jr. (Monica) and Harriet “ Hattie” (Damon Vincent). She was blessed with sixteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Marie is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Marie was a devoted wife and mother. And a strongly devoted Catholic. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to casinos and playing bingo. She will be dearly missed by all those that knew her. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend Memorial Mass at Center of Jesus the Lord at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 1307 Louisiana Ave., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Visitation at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM till Mass time. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, New Orleans LA. The entire Cancienne family would like to thank all those involved with her care during her illness especially the caretakers at Canon Hospice. We also want to thank all friends and family who prayed with and stood by her during this difficult time.
