Margaret Mule'

d. February 3, 2018

Margaret Mary Falcon Mulé died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 3rd after completing a heroic battle against cancer.  Margaret Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Regina Falcon, and several sisters and brothers-in-law, cousins, and friends. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, retired Judge Salvadore Thomas Mulé; her children, Thomas (Theresa), Michael (Merriweather) and Millard (Sarah); her three grandchildren, Rosalie, Camille, and Salvadore; her sister-in-law, Margaret Ann Mulé; her nephew, Harold (Diane) Baur; several great nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and friends.  Affectionately known as “Pokey” by her classmates and “Booga” by her grandchildren - Margaret Mary never believed in obstacles and always faced even the most difficult situations with bravery, grace, humility, faith, and determination.  Born on August 30, 1941 - Margaret Mary was a 1959 graduate of the Academy of the Sacred Heart. She attended Barat College where she played on both the basketball and volleyball teams, before earning bachelor and master degrees from Loyola University New Orleans. Margaret Mary became the first female administrative official for the City of New Orleans after years of teaching in the Orleans Parish Public Schools. Upon leaving City Hall, she served in executive leadership for the Audubon Zoo and RCB Development. Her final career was that of a caretaker of her mother; while her most lasting work was that of a devoted and selfless wife, mother, and grandmother.  Following Hurricane Katrina, Margaret Mary became an active parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Folsom, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and the Chair of the St. Joseph’s Altar. She was awarded the Order of St. Louis IX Medallion by Archbishop Gregory Aymond for her devotion to the work of the Catholic Church. Margaret Mary was dedicated to the Sisters Servants of Mary and the Religious of the Sacred Heart, and she was a Jesuit Companion.

The family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Dr. Richard Kline and nurses Morgan Smith and Erica Doubleday at Ochsner Hospital for their genuine care and professionalism.
