Marcus Favie' passed away on February 24, 2018, born on March 21, 1943 . He was a native of Arnhem, The Netherlands, a resident of New Orleans for many years, and lived in Mandeville, LA at the time of his death.
Marc served in the Dutch Military before coming to the United States from Tilburg, The Netherlands in 1965. He loved America and one of his proudest moments was when he became an American citizen. He owned his own businesses in New Orleans and finished his career in the automobile industry. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved being “Opa” and “Pee-Paw” to his four grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents Peter and Josephina Favie′ and one sister, Pia. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Frances Dupont Favie′; two daughters, Elise Oliver (Charles) of the Woodlands, TX, Leslie Rosamond (Michael) of Mandeville, LA; four grandchildren, Nicholas and Carter Oliver, Emory and Jillian Rosamond.
He is also survived by his European siblings, Madeline (Frits), Jose′, Guido (Martha), Noor (Jos), Stephan (Mariska), Eteinne, Ines, Octavie (Joost), Paul (Karin), and many nieces, nephews, along with great nieces and nephews.He will also be greatly missed by his sister-in-law Elise Hunt, brother-in-law Julius Dupont, and niece Julie Hunt Navar and her family Gabe, Gabriel, and Hunt Navar.
A celebration of life will be held on March 18, 2018 at 2pm for friends and family at the home of his daughter. Please email favie@att.net for details on the memorial.
