Marcie J. Dacus

Marcie J. Dacus, of Mandeville Louisiana, left our world on January 23 2025.

Marcie was born Martha Ann Jenkins on October 5, 1940 at Shelby, Mississippi in the Mississippi Delta. She grew up on a farm as the youngest daughter of John Henry Jenkins and Ollie Mae Jenkins. She grew up in a large, loving family with seven brothers and one sister. 

Marcie was a strong willed and hard working woman who lived life to the fullest and made her own way in life. She had a long and successful career as an employee of Amtrak and retired in 2014. She was also a loving and generous Mother to her children.

Marcie is preceded in death by her second husband and the love of her life, Larry Dacus, her brothers, Joe Edd Jenkins, Isidor Jenkins, Travis Jenkins, Dennis Jenkins, Hershel Jenkins, Charles Lindbergh Jenkins, her sister Hazel Hogue and her first husband Jerry York. 

Marcie leaves behind her loving daughter, Carmen York of Mandeville, Louisiana. Son, Roger York (Tina) of Pensacola Florida. Granddaughter Sutton York (Mitchell) of Portland, Oregon and Brother, Gaynus Jenkins of Fayette, Alabama as well as a large network of extended family and friends.
