Lorraine Duzac Aufrecht, 92, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, in in the loving care of her family.
Lorraine was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on August 5, 1929, to Anna and John Duzac. On July 12, 1947, she married her sweetheart, the late Richard J. Aufrecht, to whom she was married for 62 years. She was the founder of the Faith and Fun Club at OLL, founder of the Holy Mackerels Club at MHTCC, Past president of the parish council at OLL, president of the OLL alter society, she was awarded the St. Louis Medallion, and she was awarded by the State of Louisiana for the most money raised for cancer research at the VFW Post 6640, Metairie.
Lorraine was the beloved mother of Sharon A. Lang (Charles R.) and Richard J. Aufrecht (Mary D.) grandmother of Lorraine A. Lang (Craig) and Charles Shaun Lang (Helen), great-grandmother of Aden J. Ross, and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings John Duzac, Elselma Enriquez, Louis Duzac and Robert Duzac. Family was Lorraine’s happy place so in lieu of flowers or donation, please treat your family to a meal and enjoy your time with them while you still can. Lorraine will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Most Holy Trinity Church, 501 Holy Trinity Dr, Covington, LA 70433 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment to follow in the Mandeville Cemetery.
