Lionel John Holmes, Jr., age 85 years old, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, October 13, 2015. Beloved husband of Wynona Carroll Trauth Holmes by the second marriage and Dorothy Pepitone Holmes Mocklin by his first marriage. Father of Kathleen H. LeBlanc, Carroll Trauth Gales, Marvin Trauth, Jr., Brent Trauth, Sr., and the late Melisa H. Millet and Susan H. Bozzelle. Son of the late Lionel J. Holmes, Sr. and Rose Martello Holmes. Brother of Raymond Holmes. Brother –in –law of Melva Holmes. Grandfather of Tina Lemoine, Kristopher J. LeBlanc, Gary L. LeBlanc, Jr., Brent Trauth Jr., Brett Millet, Kaci Bozzelle, Blaire Trauth, Blake Castellon, Paige Trauth, Maddie Trauth and Olivia Gales. Also survived by 10 Greatgrandchildren and 3 Great-greatgrandchildren. Mr. Holmes was a veteran of The United States Marine Corps. The family would like to thank the Staff of St. Joseph Hospice for their loving care of Mr. Holmes.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, 75212 Lee Road, Covington, LA 70435. Visitation from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment in Southeastern Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Slidell, LA.
