Linda Mae Lazarus Littleton on November 16, 2020 at home passed away peacefully due to brain complications from a fall. She was born on May 8, 1937, in New Orleans, LA to Lucile Leontine Levy Lazarus and Isadore Isaac Lazarus. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Stephen C. Littleton. Survived by her brother, Henry R Lazarus, of New Orleans and his wife, Evie. Also survived by her children, Lisabeth Littleton of New Orleans, LA and Stephanie Littleton Zwack of Newport, RI and her husband, Peter. Also survived by grandchildren, Broghan L, Zwack, Peter Zwack, Jr., and Alessandra Zwack. Linda was a graduate of Country Day School and received her Bachelor’s degree from Boston University. Linda was devoted to her horses and farm, she loved her giant fur babies. She loved her dogs, cats, birds and all of the wildlife on the farm and looked forward to summers so she could take out her John Deere tractor and cut that grass every day! In her later years she began churning out tons of oil paintings of birds, horses, cows and any flower subject she could find. Our walls hold her work. She loved life and greeted every day saying “Oh. What a Beautiful Day it is!” Linda was known for her kindness and empathy, and her ability to make people feel special and included. She would always lend a hand if anyone needed help yet insisted on doing everything herself! There was literally not one problem she couldn’t solve with a clever solution. She was a tough gal with a soft touch. From her days of racing her horses at the Fair Grounds to playing a great game of Mah Jong with her gal pals to keeping her farm in tip top shape, she was one of a kind and will be deeply missed. Due to COVID, service arrangements will be delayed until early spring of 2021, but will be held at the farm where we can memorialize her. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the ASPCA (https://secure.aspca.org/donate/ ) or American Rescue Dog Association (https://www.ardainc.org/donate ) or Thoroughbred Retirement Network of Louisiana (https://thoroughbrednetwork.net/you-can-help).
