Linda S. Hurst

Linda S. Hurst, passed away on October 29, 2024 at the age of 69; Just shy of her 70th birthday, in Greensburg, Louisiana. Linda was born on November 13, 1954, in Amite, Louisiana, Linda devoted her life to her husband and community, leaving behind a legacy of love and creativity.

Linda is survived by her beloved husband, Ken Hurst, and her siblings: brother Jimmy, and sisters Lydia and Renee. As well as many other friends and family who will miss her deeply. 

Throughout her life, Linda was known for her engaging spirit and a remarkable ability to bring people together. She took the initiative to start a mahjong club, fostering camaraderie and friendship among its members. An accomplished painter, she expressed her creativity through both acrylics and watercolors, capturing the beauty of the world around her on canvas. She even came to sell a few of her paintings, which she was very proud of. Her love for Ken led her to persue his favorite hobby of golfing, where she often shared joyful moments with her husband. Ken recalls her becoming a very good golfer and even beating him on occasion. Riding bicycles with her friends and family served as another avenue for connection, reflecting Linda's vibrant and active lifestyle.

While Linda’s time with us was shorter than we would have wished, her spirit will continue to shine brightly in our hearts, reminding us of the joy she brought to our lives. She will be missed deeply, but her love and creativity will never fade.
