Lelawatie, 69, left this world peacefully on April 28, 2024 at Lakeview Hospital in Covington, LA.
She was born on February 26, 1955 in Canjie, Guyana. She is the daughter of the late Budus Samaroo and Dularie Samaroo.
She leaves behind her doting husband Parsram Ramberan. She is survived by her children Deborah Rambarran and husband Lakeram, Andrew Khadaroo and wife Davie, Kevin Khadaroo, and Parsram Shiva Ramberan; grandchildren Indira Rambarran, Ahmia Khadaroo Hall, Delilah Khadaroo, Joshua Khadaroo, Brandon Khadaroo, Isabel Khadaroo, Sabrina Khadaroo, and Kiro Khadaroo; and siblings Daro Mukhlall, Namela Mohamed, Devo Samaroo, Neville Samaroo, Keto Samaroo, Camo Samaroo, and Veta Samaroo.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings Ena Samaroo and Filbert Samaroo.
Lelawatie immigrated to America in 1985. She was a strong-willed lady with a generous heart. She made friends with everyone she met. She enjoyed cooking, knitting and bird watching from her window, getting her son Parsram to frequently refill the birdfeeder. She was an avid gardener and was always proud of her fruits of labor. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mom, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend by her loved ones.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m.in the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home 75212 Hwy 437 Covington, Louisiana 70435. Per her wishes, her ashes will be scattered in the Gulf of Mexico.
