Lawrence Freddie McLain, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at his home in Bush, LA. Lawrence leaves behind his beautiful loving wife, Judy Jenkins King McLain; his only daughter, Dana McLain Sloyan; his grandchildren, John David, Zachary, Destiny, Elizabeth, Ethan, Gabrielle and Hayden; his brothers and sisters, James McLain (Frances), Joyce Gay, Mamie Keller, Mavis McManus (Casey), Essie Cleveland, Raymond McLain (Mary Lou), Donald McLain, Eugene McLain, David McLain, Betty Ann McLain, Stephen McLain (Debbie) and Stanley McLain (Mary Ann) and many nieces and nephews.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Ethel McLain; his brothers and sisters, Alton McLain, Alvin McLain, Sidney McLain, and baby twin girls; his nephews, Kenny Gay, Preston Keller Jr, and John Fitzgerald, and many aunts and uncles.
More than anything, he loved his family dearly and nothing was more important.
He was a United States Army veteran, a retired truck driver of more than 30 years which he considered “his first love”.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Shepherd's Care Ministries, 20115 Highway 1081, Covington, LA 70435 on Monday, September 29, 2014 at 6:00 pm. Visitation at church from 4:00 pm until service time.
Interment will be held in Sharps Chapel Cemetery at a later date.
