Lawrence Lynchard, Son of Edd and Bessie Cannon Lynchard, was born July 7, 1940 in Cleveland, Mississippi. He was born and raised into a sharecropping family in Mississippi, where he had to drop out of school at a young age to help on the farm. At the age of 33, while working full time as a barber, a husband to Barbara Ann Lynchard, and father to Lawrence Edward Lynchard, and Debra Ann Lynchard, he entered into an adult education program and obtained his GED.
He was a thoughtful, patient, hard working, and practical man who loved and cared for his family. He took pride in doing things the right way, but he was not a prideful man. He believed in accountability, and was someone that would apologize or correct himself if he felt he had said or done something wrong. He loved his church, gardening, country music, reading action adventure novels, spending time with family and friends, and he was a member of the Louisiana Bee Keepers Association.
A devoted husband, he was married for 58 great years to Barbara Ann Lynchard, who he dearly loved. She had recently undergone brain surgery, and was in declining health. At 80 years old, and on his own terms he departed this world late Friday night, August 31st 2020, at his home in Pearl River Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents Edd and Bessie, his wife Barbara, his daughter Debra, 6 sisters, and 9 brothers.
Lawrence is survived by his son Lawrence Edward Lynchard (his wife Kathleen) of Ocean Springs, MS; three brothers, Harvey Lynchard (wife, Dovie) of KY, Billy Lynchard, of LA, and Buddy Lynchard (wife, Hilma Ruth) of TN; three sisters, Ruby Robinson of Florissant, Ruth Helbig (husband, George) of TX, Margie Meredith (husband, Jim) of MS; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
