Lawrence Harold Bates

Lawrence Harold Bates, known to his loved ones as Harold or HB, passed away on September 19, 2023, at the age of 80 after a short illness. He was born on October 7, 1942, in Leesville, La. He lived in Metairie, La while raising his children, then moved to Ponchatoula, La after his retirement. HB was a very  loving, fun, and caring individual with a beautiful soul. He had a deep love for his entire family, especially his children and grandchildren.

HB is survived by his three children: Larry Bates (Jeannine), Bridget Damonte (John), and Spring Ouber (Davey). He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Amelia Masson (Bobby), Amanda Damonte (Sage), Eythan Bates, Noah Bates, Harlie Ouber, and Summer Ouber.

Additionally, HB is survived by his four great-grandchildren: Fletcher, Archer, Natalie and Quinn.

He is also survived by his brother,Paul, and his sisters, Janet and Juanita along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.

HB was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence (Boots) Bates, his mother Verlie Eve DeSoto, his brother Gary, and His sisters, Faye, Betty and Sandra.

HB proudly served in the Army for two years. He had a passion for hunting, raising farm animals, and enjoying a good swim in a cool creek.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday October 7, 2023 at North Cross Church 311 LA-21, Madisonville, LA 70447 at 11:00 a.m.
