Larry Anthony Sampey Sr.

Larry Anthony Sampey, Sr. passed away peacefully on November 15, 2024 surrounded by his family. Larry was born on October 11, 1939 in Gibson, LA to Sergin Joseph Sampey, Sr. and Ludia Louviere Sampey. He married his best friend and high school sweetheart, Janet Claire Green on August 31, 1963 at St. Stephen Catholic Church and to this union were born Anne Mary Sampey, Larry Anthony Sampey, Jr. (Tony) and David Patrick Sampey. He was a committed and loving Husband and Father. Larry honorably served in the Army National Guard and was a highly respected general contractor whose career is defined by integrity, hard work and perseverance. He was able to share his passion while working with family his entire career and his values will live on through future generations. He is survived by his three children: Anne Mary Doss and husband David, Tony Sampey and wife Lauren, and David Sampey and wife Brandie, siblings Sergin Joseph "SJ" Sampey, Jr. (Priscilla), Patsy Mann, Colleen Orgeron (Doug), and William Peter Sampey. His loving legacy continues through his grandchildren, Julie and Jennifer Doss, Channing, Cailin, Cade, Caroline, Lilly, Ava, and Charlotte Sampey, along with his great grandson, Waylon Sampey. He was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife of 50 years, Claire. 

A visitation will be held in his honor at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Berwick, Louisiana, on November 20, 2024, from 8:30AM until 10:30AM, followed by a Mass of Christian burial beginning at 10:30 AM, interment to follow at the Berwick Cemetery. Care has been entrusted to Bagnell & Son Funeral Home.
