Larry Dale Carter passed away after his hard-fought battle with cancer on Monday, January 29 at the age of 54. Larry was born on November 11, 1969 and was a native of Madisonville. Larry was the true definition of a “river rat” and loved spending time fishing, being out on the water, and hunting. While he loved spending time outdoors, his first and foremost favorite thing to do was to spend time with his wife and daughter (“his girls”). When he wasn’t with his girls or spending time in the great outdoors, you could find him inside inspecting, studying, and growing his coin collection. In addition to being an avid coin collector, he could also cook a “mean pot of beans” along with many other dishes. Larry was a one-of-a-kind person and hands-down the loudest in the room, always making sure you would hear what he had to say. He always kept everyone guessing on what he would do or say next. The days will be much quieter without him and he will be greatly missed.
Larry is preceded in death by his mother, Ola Mae Jenkins Chatellier, and his brother, Raymond Carter. He is survived by his loving wife, Amber Carter and their daughter, Lilly Carter, as well as his father, Leroy Carter, sisters Janice and Shannon, nieces Tiffany Carter, Brittany Carter, Leslie Carter, nephews Wyatt Carter, Nathan Heck, and various aunts, uncles, and cousins.
