Kimberle Mignon Giroir

March 15, 1971 — December 30, 2024

Metairie, Louisiana

Kimberle Mignon Giroir passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024 in New Orleans, Louisiana, at the age of 53.

Kim was born March 15, 1971, in New Orleans, the second child of Kendall Giroir, a musician, and Karen Serpas, a retail store owner. As a child, Kim moved to California where she attended grade school. The family lived variously in Palo Alto, Santa Monica, and for many years in La Jolla, California. Karen was an avid traveler and Kim and her sister accompanied her on many overseas trips.

Kim graduated from St. Pius X grammar school in New Orleans and St. Scholastica Academy High School in Covington, Louisiana. Kim attended Mesa College in San Diego California, Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana and the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in San Francisco, California. When she took a job working for Marriott hotels she found that the hospitality industry really suited her social nature, (she never met a stranger) and she quickly worked her way up to a management position.

After giving birth to her son Logan, Kim began working for Gymboree, where she taught children’s play and music classes. Kim loved teaching classes for children and, in turn, they loved being taught by her.

Kim was an extremely open-hearted and generous soul, and liked to do for others, always giving gifts. When travelling she would always return with the most thoughtful souvenirs for everyone. It gave her great joy to brighten someone’s day. She cherished her friends and family.

Kim is preceded in death by her parents, Kendall Giroir and Karen Serpas, her grandparents, and her aunt and uncle Lisa Serpas and Henry Serpas III.

She is survived by her son, Logan Lendrop (Elena), her sister Simone Giroir (Glenn), her ex-husband, Leif Lendrop and her grandmother Annabelle Serpas (aged 102), as well as her mothers’ siblings Stewart Serpas, Suzanne Decker, and Denise Mott, and her fathers’ siblings Manette Chapotel and Tom Giroir, and many cousins whom she adored.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 4th from 10 am - 12 noon at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 6666 Spanish Fort Blvd, followed by mass. Interment will be at St. Louis Cemetery No. 3, 3421 Esplanade Ave.
