Karen Ely Diaz

Karen Ely Diaz, also affectionately known as Pippa, was called home to our Lord on Tuesday, November 14, 2023.

Born January 26, 1945, to Charles and Opal Ely, she touched the lives of all who knew her.

She married Juel A. Diaz in 1967 and raised three loving children. She was a dedicated and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

She graduated from Southeastern Louisiana College in 1966 as one of few women earning a Bachelor of Business degree with a major in Accounting. While attending Southeastern she was a member of Tri Sigma, a sorority dedicated to service. She had a successful career, was generous with her time and finances, and she was devoted to her family, raising her children with her husband, in a Christian home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Opal Ely.

She is survived by her husband, Juel A. Diaz, her children, Jody, Jared and his wife, Tennille, Matthew and his wife, Roseanne, and her grandchildren, Hannah, Rebekah, Amson, Sarah, Elias, Shelby, Nelson, Daniel, Zachary, Avery, Amari, and Janari.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 noon, Sunday, December 3rd at Parkview Baptist Church, 6301 Camphor Street, Metairie, LA 70003, followed by a reception.

All family, friends, and others whose lives Karen touched are welcome. 

Friends and family are also welcome to attend Sunday morning worship at Parkview Baptist for 10:30 a.m.
