Judy Brown

Judy Brown, 71 of Covington, La. Peacefully gained her wings on May 17, 2019, with friends and family by her side. She fought a courageous fight with cancer and kept the faith while doing so. She was born to the late Jesse and Jeanette Ultey on September 10, 1947, in Marrero, La. and was a graduate of West Jefferson High School. She was married to her adoring husband, Gregory Brown, and they lived together in Terrytown, La. before relocating to Mandeville/Covington, La. in 1997. She is survived by her two children, who she was so proud of; Kelly Lauland of Metairie,La. and Mindy Monfra (Craig) of Lafayette, La. She is also survived by her three grandchildren who she loved dearly; Gabriella Monfra, Nicholas Monfra, and Emma Monfra. She is also survived by two sisters; Janet Reiling (Larry), their three children and six grandchildren; Joyce Freeman (Wayne), their two children and two grandchildren. All of them she loved and touched dearly. She retired from State Farm Insurance after thirty-five years. She enjoyed attending Bible Study, going to the Casino, traveling, spending time on the beach with her family, and had an indescribable love for all animals. She was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. Her beautiful smile and infectious laughter left a mark on all those who knew her. She had a kind heart, fierce mind, brave spirit, and never missed a chance to live. She will always be remembered as “Uptown Judy Brown.” Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church, 312 Lafitte St. Mandeville, La.at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. .
