Judith Helmer

Judith "Judy " Mitchell Helmer age 74, passed from this life on Tuesday morning February 23, 2021. She is now resting pain free in the presence of her Savior Jesus. She is preceded in death by her parents Ottis and Dorothy P. Mitchell,  her brother John "Buddy" Mitchell and her cherished daughter Jahnea Maria Morella. She is survived by her brother Jason Mitchell (his wife Barbara), her three sons John "Manny" Morella (his wife Jewel), Jereme Morella, Jarett Morella and her loving husband of 33 years Kevin Helmer. She is also survived by grandchildren Daniel Morella, Brittany Misener, Jarett Morella, Dalton Morella, seven grandchildren and an extended family that will miss her dearly. Judy was fiercely devoted to her four children, always sharing their special symbol Js 4Js 4ever. She defended and stood by her children with her life. She had the amazing ability to make you feel like you were the most important person in her life at moment. You knew she was genuinely interested in what concerned you. Her heart wasn't only for family,
she had great compassion for all people (especially children) who were suffering and mistreated. She was especially grived to she animal cruelty. Her sense of humor helped to keep things balanced and she was always sharp with a witty quip or a funny (usually self directed) jab. Always a jokester Judy would playfully tease her ever patient, caring loving (and much loved) husband. Judy called Port Arthur, TX her hometown but she was a true New Orleanian who was passionate about her faith, family, fur babies and all things right, true and just. We your family and friends celebrate your Life and the Love you so generously lavished on us. Till we see you again on Heaven's side know that we Love you very very very much!
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Monday, March 1, 2021  in the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home 75212 Hwy 437 Covington, Louisiana 70435  at 1:00 p.m. with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Internment to follow in the Eternal Rest Cemetery.
