Joseph Tamburello
December 7, 1934 — March 31, 2015
Joseph Tamburello, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at the age of 80. He was born in New Sarpy, Louisiana, resided in Kenner, Louisiana for 40 years. Joseph served 8 years in the United States Coast Guard, honorably discharged in 1959.
He was a Louisiana State Trooper from 1961 until retirement in September 1981, was employed by Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s office for two years, and was an honorary lifetime member of St. Jerome Knights of Columbus.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 36 yrs, Lynda Stanga Meetze Tamburello, his children, Joseph Anthony Tamburello of Metairie; stepchildren, William Lester Meetze, Jr. of Mandeville, LA, Richard Noel Meetze of Phoenix, AZ.; brother Victor; sister Carrie, grandchildren, Brennan Meetze, Nicholas Meetze, Maya Meetze, Niala Meetze, Amelia Meetze, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents John and Josephine Tamburello, siblings, Lucy, Lena, Rosalie, Mary, Walter, Norman, Salvador and Phillip.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jerome Church, 2402 33 rd St., Kenner, LA on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 10:00 am. Visitation from 9:00 am until service time.
All employees of Louisiana State Police and Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office are invited to attend.
Interment will follow in Stanga Cemetery, Bedico, Louisiana.
