Joseph Garcia

Joseph Garcia passed away peacefully while surrounded by loved ones at his home on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, twelve days before his Ninetieth birthday. He was a native of Delacroix Island and a  lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish until Hurricane Katrina. he then relocated to Pearl River, Louisiana. Beloved husband of Anna Schouest Garcia for seventy years. loving father of the late Wayne N. Garcia and son of the late Joseph Garcia and Leona Perez Garcia. Brother of the late Marcelina Garcia and Philip Garcia, Sr. Son in law of the late Blanche Guidry Schouest and Abraham Schouest. Uncle of Patricia Roberts (Joe), Mark Garcia (Patricia), Sharon Billiot (Gene) and the late Philip Garcia, Jr. Special thanks to his niece, Amy Ladner. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. The family would also like to thank Hospice Specialist of Louisiana for their care and compassion in his final days. Graveside services will be held on Thursday  May 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens Chalmette, La.
