Jonny Roberts

Jonny Roberts passed away on April 20, 2021, at the age of 75. He was born and raised in Violet, LA.  He resided in Diamondhead, MS and moved to Mandeville, Louisiana in 2014. Jonny retired from a successful career as the IT Director at Conoco Phillips and BP Petroleum.  He served in the Air National Guard and received an honorable discharge.  He earned an Associate Degree from Delgado College in Electronics and was a licensed electrician.  He received a distinguished award by BP Petroleum for creating software used in the BP refinery.  He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.  Jonny also became an avid bridge player earning a Silver Life Master ranking in 2021.  He will also be remembered as a thoughtful, sweet and kind friend to all at his bridge club. His parents were the late Sidney P Roberts and Camille Roberts.  Jonny is survived by his adoring wife of 29 years, Patricia Maye Roberts, and his six loving children, Jonny Roberts, Jr (Heidi), Amie Roberts, Kevin Meyers (Michelle), Mary Meyers Jordan (Roland), Steve Meyers (Danelle), and Ryan Meyers (Courtney).  He is the brother of Philip Roberts, Sidney E Roberts (Shizuka) and Susan Robin (Rickey) and many nieces and nephews.  Jonny also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, the late Korey Meyers (child of Kevin and Michelle Meyers), Nicholas Roberts, Jennell Maxon, Jamie Muller (Britton), Taylor Meyers, Miranda Jordan, Cody Jordan (Anne), Tyler Jordan, Madison Meyers, Steven Meyers, Gwendolyn Roberts, Ellowyn Roberts, Tim Berger, Julia Diaz and 8 great-grandchildren, Lucas Nave, Kohen Muller, Ruby Roberts, and Davina Smith, Rhett Muller, Stevie Jordan, Lucille Jordan and Shepherd Jordan. Of all his many roles, it was his time as husband, father, and grandfather that Jonny cherished above all else. Jonny was incredibly proud of his family.   Although he will be missed dearly, we will honor him by continuing his legacy of generosity, love, and family. A Memorial Service will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 312 Lafitte Street, Mandeville, LA 70448 on Thursday, April 29, 2021 with visitation at 11:00 AM and a Catholic mass at 12:00 PM, with interment at Bagnell & Son Funeral Home at 75212 Lee Road, Covington, LA 70435.  Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial services.
