John Smith

John Edward Smith of Pearl River, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017. He was 68 years of age. John was born in Logan, West Virginia.  He spent most of his career working in the banking business which eventually brought him to Louisiana where he worked for Hibernia and Whitney Banks for more than 30 years. Aside from his successful banking career, John served on numerous boards in the St. Tammany Parish community. His joy was working with partners and entrepreneurs through the Slidell Chamber of Commerce, where he served as president twice. John is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Ann Dickinson Smith; his parents Jack and Virginia Smith; his sons Steven Smith wife Tracy, David Smith, Brandon Ulmer wife Rachael, Jonathan Hewitt wife Alanna, Nathan Hewitt wife Tara; his grandchildren Rosalyn Ulmer, Grace Ulmer, Margaret Ulmer, Molly Hewitt, Cody Anderson and Avery-Jean Dolese.  Memorial Services will be held on Thursday September 28, 2017, 5:30 pm, at The El-Bethel Worship Center in Slidell, LA. Services will be officiated by Bishop Eugene Wellington and visitation will begin at 4:30pm.
