John Maldonado Jr.

John Maldonado Jr passed away May 3, 2023, at the age of 77. John was born in New Orleans Louisiana to John Maldonado Sr and Myrtle Slaughter Maldonado on April 2, 1946. John was a resident of Jefferson, Louisiana.

John is Preceded in death by his parents John Sr and Myrle Maldonado and his siblings Judy Rogers Angelo, Gay Rogers, Ramona Maldonado Licata. And the late Tony Licata and Michael McGuire

He is survived by his dedicated wife of 47 years, Sharon Giglio Maldonado and his fur baby Xena Lynn Maldonado.  He is also survived by his sisters: Sharon Maldonado Russell (Butch) and Delores Maldonado McGuire, and his sisters in law Charlotte Giglio Wallace and Bonnie Giglio, as well as his Godson, Anthony Berezuik, JR. and his loving dedicated cousin Rhonda Evans.

John had many interests and accomplishments in his lifetime. He was a member of the American Legion, 40/8 Club, Fraternal Order of Police. John worked with the New Orleans Riverfront Clerk and Checkers, The St. Bernard Parish Police Department, The Hyatt Regency Hotel, and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office. John was proud to have served his country in the United States Air Force.

The family would like to thank the medical team at VA Hospital in New Orleans, his “Angel” nurse, Laura, and the team from St Joseph’s Hospice.

A Prayer Service will be held on: Friday, May 12, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church 1908 Short Street Kenner, LA 70062
