Joann Greer

Joann (Billie Joe) Greer passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, January 5th. She was born in Chesapeake, Ohio in 1934 to Lula Yates Greer and William W. Greer. She graduated from Chesapeake High School in Chesapeake, Ohio. She worked days and attended college nights to achieve her college degree in Accounting.  Joann retired from Milk Marketing in Strongsville, Ohio where she was Manager of Accounting.  She traveled extensively with her sister, June Jenkins.  Upon retirement, she and her sister, June, relocated from Middleburg Heights, Ohio to Slidell, LA. They loved the area, bought and shared a home together, spending many happy years with their cat Cleo. Joann loved flowers, gardening, writing novels, solving crossword puzzles, cooking, and good wine.  She was active in her church  (Christ Episcopal Church).  She is survived by her nieces, Joann (Terry) Appeman, Jackie (Charles) Craft, her nephew Michael (Lisa) Jenkins and many great nieces and nephews She is also survived by her Great Granddaughters Angela (Angel) Appeman and Julie Appeman and her beloved cat Cleo. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Lula Greer, her brothers Ishmael Greer and Frank Greer, her sisters Mary Jane Mansfield and June Jenkins (housemate and travel companion), her niece Jennifer (Larry) Clark, and nephew Charles Jenkins.

Services officiated by Father Harry Jenkins will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 11:00 A.M. at Christ Episcopal Church 1534 Seventh Street Slidell, LA
