Jimmy Gurry Britt

Jimmy Gurry Britt passed away peacefully at the age of 75 at his home in Mandeville on December 28, 2023.

He was born in Eupora, MS to the late Gurry and Beulah Britt.  He is survived by his wife, Janice, and three daughters: Laurie Britt, Amanda Dye, and Cassandra Billiot. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Megan Britt, Mitchell Cooper, Jacob  Dye (Karalee), Gabrielle Cooper, Conner Billiot, Kaylee Billiot, and Kara Billiot and 4 great-grandchildren: Lila Moulder, Blaine Dye, Anna Gail Dye and Lillian Dye.

He is preceded in death by his grandson Taylor Cooper, his sister Jamie Bradford, and his brother Everette Verhine. He leaves behind his brothers Robert Britt(Brenda) and L. E. Verhine(Nita).

After multiple years teaching math, he was employed by the Louisiana Department of Transportation until his retirement. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play, sharing his stories about growing up, reading his extensive collection of books, and cooking up his latest concoctions.  He will be missed by many and remembered fondly. 

A private memorial service will be held at a later date in his hometown of Eupora, Ms.
