Jerry Houser

Jerry Eddie Houser of Mandeville, LA left this life on Saturday April 16, 2022. He passed away at his home surrounded by his family. Jerry was born on March 21, 1943, in Bristol, TN to the late parents of Joseph Clarence Houser and Mary Katherine Garland. Jerry was one of eight siblings and is survived by his brother Glenn. Jerry played football at the University of Alabama, and later graduated from East Tennessee State University. Jerry served one tour of duty in Vietnam in the U.S. Army, and later retired after 27 years in management from UPS. He is survived by his wife, Helen Miners Houser, son Keith and daughter-in-law Lynn Houser, sons Michael, and Brian Houser, and his daughter Elizabeth “Betsy” and son-in-law Tony Jacketti. The family will hold a private service through Bagnell and Son Funeral Home. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
