Jeanine Guidry

Jeanine Calvet Guidry, 86, passed away peacefully at her home in Covington on February 3, 2020.  Upon her passing Jeanine was surrounded by Malcolm, her husband of 67 years, and her 4 children, grandchildren and family members.  Jeanine was born and raised in uptown New Orleans the daughter of Charles and Louise Calvet. She was a graduate of Mc Main High School and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana.  During her time at Southeastern, she met and married Malcolm and they had four children, Douglas, Denise, Dyanne and David.  Her professional career included several years of teaching school and then many years as a court reporter and legal secretary. Jeanine was a loving wife and mother; loved being surrounded by her family and friends welcoming all who graced her door. She loved being a homemaker and her yard full of gardens and flowers. She had a passion for going anywhere for any reason no matter how simple the trip may have been. Jeanine was a true lady best known for her grace, kindness and compassion. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 11:30 AM at First United Methodist Church of Covington, 203 N. Jefferson Ave., Covington, LA 70433. Visitation from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment in J. M. Fussell Cemetery, Covington, LA.
