Janet West

Janet Bascle West of Metairie, LA passed away on Thursday, January 14th, 2021 at the age of 70. She was born to the late Randall Bascle and Alma Alsobrooks Bascle in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 30th, 1950.

Janet was kind, loving, and selfless. The first love of her life was her late husband Warren West (“Freddy”). They had a beautiful 50-year marriage. She was adored by her family, friends, and acquaintances. She loved gardening and maintained a lush backyard filled with a variety of plants and great memories of times spent with family and friends.

Janet was strong in her faith. She was a parishioner and Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Perpetual Help church for many years. As a Eucharistic Minister she delivered communion, prayers, and gifts to the Walden Nursing Home for several years.

She is survived by her son Mark West, her daughter-in-law Eva West, her grandchildren Jenna West and Anders West, siblings Aline Bascle Burges and Sue Bascle Muller, and many loved sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Warren Frederick West and sibling Randall Bascle Junior.

There will be a private internment memorialization on Saturday, January 30th, 2021 at Bagnell & Son Funeral Home (75212 Hwy 437 Covington, Louisiana 70435) at 11:00 a.m.
