Janet Marie Alvarez

Janet Marie Alvarez of Slidell, LA, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on December 4, 2023, at the age of 73. 

Born December 9, 1950, to parents Alvin Raymond Alvarez Sr., and Gloria Ann Schafer Alvarez. Her early childhood years, she and her family resided in New Orleans, LA before moving to Slidell, LA as an adult.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Alvin “Denny” Alvarez Jr. 

She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Hart; a son-in-law, Kenneth Hart Sr.; three grandchildren & their spouses, Jenneth Hart (Stephanie), Joseph Hart Sr. (Rachelle), Kenneth Hart Jr. a great-grandson: Joseph “JJ” Hart Jr., a brother, Allen Alvarez (Cathy); a sister, Karen Michel (Kevin); former husbands, Earl Joseph Chabaud Jr. and Wade “Richard” Abner, and countless extended family members and friends. 

            She was a kind spirit whose had an incredibly huge heart.  She enjoyed sewing and crafting and making others smile every day. She never met a stranger and had the ability to light up rooms with positivity and love. She loved watching the Saint’s play football and listening to Elvis. 

            Janet was loved by her family and will be dearly missed. Relatives and family friends are invited to attend her celebration of life at Covenant Baptist Church in Slidell on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 2:00 PM. 890 Robert Blvd. Slidell, LA 70458.
