James "Larry" Wilson, 76, peacefully passed from this life with family on January 23, 2024. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Vicki Metheny Wilson and by their two children, Kelly (Brian) Wilson of Bedico, LA. and Jimmy Wilson of Bourg, LA.; two grandsons Matthew Wilson (Jamie) of Bedico, LA., Joshua Wilson of Westwego, LA., and granddaughter Kara Munch (Seth) of Bourg, LA. He will forever be "Paw Paw" to his great-grandchildren Tanner, Carson, Kimber, Carter, Colton and Asher. He is also survived by one sister Norma Jean (Bob) Snider of Newport News, VA.; three brothers Kenny (Sammi) Wilson, Tony Wilson and Bobby (Beth) Wilson, all of Carson, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Eula Wilson, sister Minnie Wilson King, and brothers Leonard and Lester (Betsy) Wilson. Born in the Santee Community (MS.) on July 7, 1947, he met Vicki in Kansas City, MO., where they lived until moving to Westwego, LA. in 1974. His early career was in the transportation business with Yellow Freight and Jones Truck Lines. He then spent many successful years in various sales and management roles with the Lamarque Motor Company. He loved playing and watching golf as well as watching the Saints, the Chiefs and LSU football. In his later years, he wouldn't miss his great grandboys playing baseball. The family wishes to say a special thank you to all of the staff of St. Tammany Parish Hospital Hospice and his devoted caregivers; Nurse Kim and Aide Tawani.

The family requests that a donation be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Foundation https://www.lbda.org/donate/ in lieu of flowers. A special thanks to all the people who have prayed for Larry and the family during this time.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at The Chapel at First Baptist Church Covington, 16054 Murphy Road, Covington, LA. 70433 on Thursday, February 1, 2024; Visitation at 10AM with service at 11AM.
