She loved well, and she was well loved.
Ida Fay Davis Newton passed away peacefully on March 7, 2024. Survived by her children: Ray M.Newton (Sheila), Kathleen Mix Diamond (James), and Mary Beth Fenasci (Robert); and grandchildren : Michael Newton (Michelle), Tania Mix Loumiet (Randy), Christina Newton Taix (Ray), Alayne Fenasci Floyd (Christopher), Shane Fenasci (Brittany), Christa Fenasci Woodham (Taylor), and Rachel Fenasci Garrett (Chet). Also survived by eight great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, as well as nieces.
Ida Fay lived for nearly a century and was a shining light in the Catholic Church and throughout the New Orleans area with her volunteer and community work. “Nana” will always be remembered for her kindness and utmost devotion to her family, friends, and her beloved neighborhood.
A Memorial Mass for family and friends will be held at St. Dominic Church, 775 Harrison Ave, New Orleans, Louisiana on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 11am. Visitation is at 10-11am. Rev. Jeff A. Merritt Parochial Vicar will be presiding at the Mass. Donations preferred to St. Dominic Church. Internment will take place following the service at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum in Metairie, Louisiana.
