Helen Rump

Helen Tenisch Rump passed away on February 19th 2021 at the age of 82 years old. Helen was the daughter of Swiss immigrants Marie and John Tenisch . Helen was born on July 7th 1938 in New York City. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Rump of 51 years. Helen resided in Madisonville Louisiana for the past 8 years with her daughter Patricia Sosa and her son in law Luis Sosa. Helen is also survived by 1 son Ricky Rump and daughter in law, Charo Rump, in Houston Texas. She also has another son, John Rump who lives in Covington Louisiana.
Helen has 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Helen as a young woman in New York attended the New York Fashion Institute of design. She eventually went on to become a master seamstress for the past 60 years. She led her life as a devout catholic with a strong and devoted faith. She had a love for cooking especially sweets. She often had 3 generations in the kitchen sharing what was to become a family tradition especially during holidays and vacations.
Helen was not rich in the sense that one might consider but was always trying to help those less fortunate. She was a big believer in giving back no matter how small. Second Harvest food bank, and make a Wish foundation were just a few of her favorite foundations. It brought her a sense of purpose.
Any one who met Helen would know she did not have a mean bone in her body ever. Yet for the few she did let experience her hidden slightly wicked humor, she would make herself and others laugh for a quick glimpse to that side of her.
She loved deeply and unconditionally with her family always being number 1 no matter what. She was honest to a fault, and left this world the way she came into it, as pure as the day.
