Helen Ruth Appel VanderMolen Castillo passed away on Friday, December 5, 2014 at the age of 78. Helen was born on Friday, January 3, 1936 in New Orleans, LA.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, John George VanderMolen, Jr. and three daughters, Deborah Ann, Sandra Ann, and Jody Ann, her parents, Althea Gendusa and Joseph Appel; and siblings, Mary Louise and Joseph Appel, Jr.
She is survived by five children, Cindy Romero, Robin VanderMolen, Betsy Combetta, John G. VanderMolen, III, and Jackie Paysse. Also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, 75212 Lee Road, Covington, LA 70435 on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 2:00 pm.
Visitation from 11:30 am until service time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army .
