Harold Sieverding

Harold “Harry” Sieverding, age 83, of Madisonville, Louisiana passed away on October 13, 2017 at his home. He was born in Iowa, served in the Army during the Korean War, received a BS degree from Iowa State University and a MD from Colorado State University in Economics. In 1955 he married Annette Sitzmann, they settled in the Northshore area in 1972 and celebrated 55 years together until her passing in 2010. Survived by 5 children: Becky Cocanour of Phoenix, AZ, Mona Filgo of Prairieville, LA, Chuck Sieverding of Covington, LA, Doug Sieverding of Columbia, SC, Mark Sieverding of Mandeville, LA; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He had a career with the Bureau of Land Management Department of the Interior and retired at age 55. He took pride in building his 65ft motor yacht “Dream Chaser” and loved working in his shop. He will be greatly missed and remembered by his family and community. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
