Harold J. Peri, Sr., age 85, died peacefully at his home in Covington, LA surrounded by his loving family on January 28, 2021, after a battle with cancer. He was born on August 23, 1935, in New Orleans, LA. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Joann Bennett Peri, his two sons, Harold J. Peri, Jr. (Tink), and Keith Peri, his sister Alice’ Peri Dornan, his brother Frank Peri, Jr. and his wife Marion Peri, his sister-in-law Christine Nappier and brother-in-law Bill Bennett as well as a host of wonderful nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Frank Peri, Sr., his mother, Alice Devenport Peri, and his brother-in-law, Walter (Tutter) Dornan. Harold graduated from Warren Easton High School and served in The LA National Guard as a Sergeant and was a certified marksman/sharpshooter. He was the co-owner of Bywater Ace Hardware and was known by many of his many customers as “Mr. Harold”. He lived in St. Bernard Parish for over 60 years. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at First Baptist Church of Chalmette, 305 E. St. Bernard Hwy., in Chalmette, LA on Saturday, February 6, 2021, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon. Services will begin at 12 Noon. Interment will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. Please be mindful that masks and physical distancing are necessary at all times inside the church.
