Harlon Fred Pine, 80 of Covington, Louisiana passed away I June 30, 2024 at home with his loving wife.
Harlon was born July 26, 1943 in McComb, Mississippi. He is the son of the late Fred E. and Quida O’ Quin Pine. He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
Harlon is survived by his sister Lanelle Pickard, his wife of 52 years, Olive Pine, his four sons; Frank, Bob, John and Fred and his beloved daughter, Sonya (Gerald). He has a total of eight grand-children, six great-grandchildren and a multitude of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Harlon was known as a Master Meat Cutter, the best in the trade in the South including Louisiana and Mississippi. He wrapped up his career as Director of Finance and Accounting, a true supermarket professional and mentor to many. He retired as a Director of Operations and Finance for the Acquistapaces franchise after a service of 36 years.
Harlon’s claim to fame was the Louisiana Cajun Fried Turkey. The craze started in the late 80’s and continues to this day. The late Frank Davis even acknowledged Harlon as the “Fried Turkey” MasterChef.
Harlon was an avid fisherman, author, carpenter, and a pro am billiard player. He enjoyed working with his hands. During his later years is when he started writing his thoughts and appreciation on the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home 75212 Hwy 437 Covington, Louisiana 70435.
