Hallie G. Mareno, a 90 year old native of New Orleans, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday April 1, 2022. She was so loved and blessed by our Lord that she was allowed to pass away peacefully at home in the loving arms of her family. Mrs. Mareno was born March 19, 1932 in New Orleans, LA, daughter of Angelo Giangrosso and Hallie Boudoin Giangrosso. She was married to David D. Mareno, Jr. She was very passionate about cooking and gardening and a follower of Christ. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter and sister. Surviving are her children Dawn Pan (Jingsong), Kim Mareno Ledet, David Mareno (Brandi), Rex Mareno, Hallie Rojas (Randy) and Dr. Jason Mareno. Grandchildren Heather, Alfred “Buddy,” Henry, Kim “Poodie,” Wallace “Toogie,” David, Daniel, Rex, Jake, Miranda, Milania, Dustin, Aaron, Hallie, Cherandie (Jason), Joey (Tracey) and Randy Jr. (Candice). Great-grandchildren Mason, Joshua, Jordan, Boston, Rashai, Ireland, Ty, Blaize, Georgia, Chase, Zoey, Joey Jr., Corey, Lainey, Tinzley, Milley, Weston and Kannon. Her sister Lydia G. Augustine (Charlie) and brother James Giangrosso (Sharon). Godchildren Blaine Landry and Angie Swann. As well as many nieces and nephews and her devoted caregiver, Yvette Taylor. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers, Vincent Giangrosso and Angelo “Buddy” Giangrosso, Jr., and her sisters, Rosemary G. Landry and Shirley G. Wagner. In light of Mrs. Mareno’s love and passion for flowers and gardening, we will be honoring her with a host of plants and flowers at the visitation. Visitation will be from 6:30pm-9:30pm on Wednesday April 6 th at Bagnell & Son Funeral Home 75212 Lee Rd Covington, LA 70435. Funeral Services will begin with a viewing on Thursday April 7 th at St. Rita Church 7100 Jefferson Hwy Harahan, LA 70123 from 10:00am-12:00pm followed by a Catholic mass at 12:00pm. Father Steve Bruno will officiate. Burial will be at Metairie Cemetery 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd New Orleans, LA 70124 at the Giangrosso tomb at 1:30pm
