Grace L. Strauss

Grace L. Strauss, of Bush, Louisiana, passed away on January 28 2023, at the age of 84.

We are mourning the passing of a matriarch; we celebrate the loss of a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. We could not have asked for a better mother and friend; she will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Hilda Loehr, her husband Don J. Strauss, Sr. of 57 years in eternal rest, daughter Laurie Strauss Babin, her brother Bob Loehr, and Doris Sinnelli.

She is survived by her children Bettie M. Strauss, Donald Strauss, Jr. (Kristina), Scott Strauss (Ginger) and Cory Strauss. Grandmother of Michael Strauss, Dawn Cazedessus (Manny), Brandi Calloway (Jamie), George Verdin (fiancé’ Virginia), Kristie and the late Mity Strauss, sister of Donald J. (Bumpy) Loehr (Millie), and Joey Loehr (Linda). Lifelong friends of Alan and Audrey Dugas who were our extended family, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Wildly known as (Sugie), she had or made friends wherever she went, keeping the gossip going as a full-time job. She was a woman with a love for her family and friends, she never met a stranger.

The family would like to express their deepest thanks to Community Care Hospice and Resthaven Living Center for the care that they gave her.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Saturday February 4, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home 75212 Hwy 437 Covington, Louisiana 70435 with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
