Gibson “Gibby” Joseph Autin II was born in Houma, La., where he lived most of his life working in the various Autin family food and catering businesses. In 1998 he moved to Covington, La., where he continued to distribute the packaged mixes of Autin’s Cajun Foods until he was called home by the  Lord on August 28, 2017.  He is survived by his sisters Gretchen Autin Yancey and her husband, Jimmy, Holly Autin Vinson and her husband, Joe, and his brother Daniel C. Autin, along with 13 nieces and nephews and 21 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Ledet Autin, father, James Charles Autin, Sr., and brother James “Chuck” Charles Autin, Jr.  Gibby was a devoted son, brother, friend and uncle. He was truly one-of-a-kind with a sweet, loving spirit and a wonderful sense of humor. He had a zeal for life that brought joy and laughter to everyone he knew and met.  Rest in peace, dear brother Gibby. You will always be remembered.   Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, 75212 Lee Road, Covington, LA 70435. Visitation from 10:00 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice in Gibby’s name for the victims of Hurricane Harvey.
