Gary Robertson

Gary Ramey Robertson was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on April 20, 1950.  He passed away peacefully at St. Tammany Parish hospital on April 3, 2018 with his loving family by his side.  He is survived by his wife of 38 years Jeanne Ebel Robertson, his daughters Emily Robertson and Marly Robertson, his son-in-law Sky Neal, and his grandchildren Cielo Neal, Sky Neal, Jr., and Lourdes Neal, his parents Ramey Robertson and Odette Collins Robertson, his brother Glen (Charlene) Robertson, and his nephews Jeffrey (Corey) Robertson, and Brian (Stacey) Robertson.  He was preceded in death by his brother Guy Robertson.

Gary grew up in Metairie, Louisiana and graduated from Archbishop Rummel High School and earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of New Orleans.  Gary was a restauranteur and spent many years as the owner/operator of The Market Place Seafood and Ola’s Place Restaurant in Mandeville.

Gary loved life and relished everything that life had to offer. He enjoyed cooking for his friends and family and entertaining the masses at backyard parties on Sundays.  He was a devoted and generous friend who met everyone with a warm smile and always made people feel special and loved. Above all, Gary adored his family and doted on his wife and daughters.   He was truly one of a kind.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Mandeville at a relative’s home.
