Gary Bahm, Hammond, LA native and long-time Folsom, LA resident passed away unexpectedly on February 27, 2020 at the age of 65 at his home in Folsom. Gary is survived by his wife of 30 years, Dawn Bahm (née Calascione); daughter Ashley Barton (Steven), son Austin Bahm (Lauren), son Ryan Bahm (Hailey), daughter Tanner Bahm, and daughter Channing Bahm. He also leaves behind a grandson Myles Abram Bahm, age 5 years, a granddaughter Adeline Turner Bahm, age 2 months and one sister, Sharon Bahm Felder. Preceded in death by his father and mother, Vern L. and Betty King Bahm. Gary graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University where he played his favorite sport of baseball. All those who knew him have heard his stories many thousands of times. Gary’s passions were baseball, hunting, fishing, and shooting the bull. He worked many jobs in sales and construction over the years but most recently was the owner and donut maker extraordinaire at Donut Stop of Folsom. In his time there, he managed to make many wonderful friends throughout Folsom and the surrounding communities. He was delighted to share all of his baseball, hunting and fishing stories with so many new people. He was a devoted father who loved his family immensely and was beaming with pride in his children for they also listened to his stories repeatedly with little complaint. Gary coached tee-ball and baseball at Magnolia Park in Folsom for about 10 years during which time he devoted nearly every night of the week to practices and games. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him. A memorial and gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, March 1 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Southern Charm Events, 82361 Highway 25, Folsom, LA. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to Magnolia Park in Folsom, whether it be a donation of money or volunteering your time to coach or assist with the sport of your choosing, and take time to take a child hunting, fishing or just to enjoy the outdoors.
