Gail Penton

Gail Marie Sparnecht Penton, 67 of Hammond passed peacefully to the Lord on February 15, 2019 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington. Gail was born in Freeport, NY on November 13th, 1951 to Raymond (Whitey) and Ethel Sparnecht and was raised mostly in Ponchatoula, LA. She met her husband, Tim Penton, Sr. in 1967,  and they were married in 1971. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Gail is survived by her husband, Timothy Ennis Penton Sr., a son, Timothy Ennis Penton Jr. (wife Ashley) and a daughter, Suzanne Penton Deli (husband Brad.) She is also survived by three grandsons, Timothy Penton III, Brent Joseph Deli and Blake Scott Deli, two sisters, Kathleen Sparnecht Starkey (husband Gregory) of Roseland and Lynda Sparnecht Locicero (husband David) of Hammond, as well as three brothers, Raymond Sparnecht Jr. (wife Pat) of Ponchatoula, Ronnie Sparnecht (wife Juan) of Philadelphia, MS and Rodney Sparnecht of Ponchatoula. She is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Ethel Sparnecht, her brother Robert Sparnecht, and a beloved nephew Greg Starkey Jr. In addition to her three grandsons, Gail was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Gail was a kind, gracious, fun-loving and peaceful person, devoted to her husband and family. She loved to cook for her family and friends. She loved to go hunting with her husband and grandsons. She was always very welcoming and hospitable to everyone. She lived a full and joyous life, and always saw the good in people. She lit up the room when she smiled. Her memory will be cherished forever.

A service in celebration of Gail’s life will be held Saturday, February 23rd from 11:00 to 1:00 at the Bethel Church of God, 41166 Bethel Church Road, Ponchatoula, LA.
