Mr. Frank Larmon, age 83, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at his home in Amite, La. Frank was born in South Charleston, West Virginia where he grew up and graduated from high school. Frank was very active in scouting and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He enjoyed camping with his family and developed a love of nature and the outdoors. Beautiful West Virginia was always close to his heart, and he loved to return to visit his neighbors and friends.
After high school, Frank continued the tradition set by his grandfather and father to attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. where he received a degree in chemical engineering. During his career, Frank worked in many plants in the US and across the world where his reputation as an expert in process control grew. He leaves behind many friends and colleagues in the petrochemical and other industries.
Frank loved his adopted hometown of Amite. He is known for his love of growing fruit trees, and many in Amite have benefitted from his love of sharing his crops. He loved visitors and befriended many in the community. He attended First Baptist Church Amite and loved worshipping with his fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Alexander Corey Larmon and Edith Kirk Larmon, and his son, Charles Alexander Larmon. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn McElveen Larmon and his daughters Susan Anderson (Jay), Nicole Larmon, Amy Hood (Daryl), Lee Ann Faust, and his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His love, kindness, and generosity will be missed by all.
