Frank Marion “Pete” Cleland Sr. passed away on May 19, 2017 at the age of 89 at his home in Covington, LA. He was born to the late Frank and Ida Eran Cowart Cleland.
Survived by his wife of 65 years, Wilmuth Gladys “Billie” Cook Cleland, his children Jane C. Murphy (Thomas “Kevin”), Natalie C Ratcliff, Frank M. Cleland Jr.,(Charlotte)Julie C. Cox (Kirt “Randy”), 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren
Preceded in death by 2 baby daughters, Barbara Ann and Marilyn Sue Cleland, a grandson Seth Leland Cox.
Pete was a lifelong resident of Covington, LA, and was a small engine mechanic in St Tammany Parish. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening and outdoor activity. He will be greatly missed by his family.
Pete’s family wishes to extend a special thanks to his Hospice family Passages nurses, Paula and Tee for their special care and thank you to all Family and friends for their prayers and support.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Northshore Worship Center, 1041 Ronald Reagan Highway, Covington, La. from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A private grave side service to be held at a later date at the Garden District Cemetery.
