Frances “Fran” Campise BlackledgeLove and Compassion is the story of how Fran lived her life, and what a life story it is for anyone who had a part in it!This beautiful light, Frances “Fran” Campise Blackledge was delivered to her mother Edith Campise Ryder and late father Peter S. Campise, Sr. in New Orleans, LA on July 20, 1962. Fran is survived by her sisters Connie Patterson (Nick), Debbie Campise (Tim Charlet), Krystal Campise, and Stephanie Campise. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. Sadly Fran is preceded in death by her brother Peter S. Campise, Jr. (Renee’) and stepfather Larry Ryder.In April 1987, Fran married her love John Blackledge, Jr. She is blessed with two beautiful daughters, Brittany Rios (Anthony) and Jessica Mangrum (Charles). Fran received one of her greatest gifts in July 2016 with the birth of her granddaughter Frances “Frankie” Diana Mangrum.Fran served her community professionally as a nurse, where she touched so many lives at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, KS, and Ochsner Health System in New Orleans. With a servant’s heart, she personally served her church in Children’s Ministry, one of the many joys of her life.Fran’s final chapter in this life involved a tremendous battle against ALS. At all times, she exemplified both grace and courage, never wavering from her boundless faith. She ultimately succumbed on October 26, 2017. Fran and her family would like to extend their love and gratitude to Ochsner ALS Clinic, St. Tammany Parish Hospital, St. Tammany Parish Home Health and Hospice for the love and compassion they extended to her during the course of her illness.
