Eugene " Butch" Howard

Eugene “Butch” Joseph Howard passed away on January 30, 2018 at the age of 64.

Butch is survived by his life companion, Patricia Dianne Fowler, sister Michelle Candies Cousin, David Ledet (Diana) their children Willie Ledet, Holly Ledet Piske (Brandon) their son Jax Piske.He is predeceased in death by his parents: Paul and Emily Howard

Butch served his community proudly, serving in the U.S. Army before beginning his career with the Slidell Police Department, with over 30 years of service. During his tenure, he served as interim Slidell Police Chief, Chief of operations, SWAT commander, patrol commander, assistant chief of detectives and assistant police chief. He graduated from the FBI National Academy in 1998.

Law enforcement family and friends mourns the loss of veteran Slidell Police Officer. We ask for your prayers of support for all of Chief Howard’s friends, family, and fellow officers.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday February 6, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Slidell Auditorium, 2056 2nd Street, Slidell LA. a Visitation will be from 9:00am till Service time, with military and police honors.
