Ernest Vierra

Ernest L. Vierra, passed away at the age of 73 on February 20, 2021. Born in Sacramento, CA to the late Herman and Catherine Vierra he was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years Mary Virginia (Ginny).  He is survived by his companion Dianna Risher, four children Tim (Dova), Dave (Alexandria), Cathlynn (Bobby) Morton and Christynn.  Ernie cherished his siblings Steven (Cary), Lynn, Cathy and Diane, and adored his grandchildren Lily, Kate, Robert, Evalynn and Elijah.

Ernie was a generous, hardworking man who never met an obstacle he could not overcome.  He came from a humble beginning but was a self-made man that valued serving others.  He worked his way from stock boy at Ace Hardware to Regional Manager after receiving his degree in Business.   Ernie was a combat veteran who was awarded a Purple Heart for his service. He retired from Pool Corporation in 2014.  He was a devoted family man who put the needs of everyone else before his own.  Above all Ernie was a giving, honorable, and trusted friend.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 26, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, 75212 Lee Rd, Covington, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Abbey, St. Benedict, LA on Saturday, February 27 at 2PM, doors open at 1:30 PM.  In lieu of flowers the family would request a donation in memory of him to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
