Elvina Veronica Cousin was born in Lacombe, Louisiana on March 8, 1927 to the late Eddie Walter Cousin Sr. and Eulalie Fricke Cousin. She departed this life peacefully on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at her home in LaCombe. She is preceded in death by her husband O’Neal Casborn, one daughter Joycelyn Nunnery and fifteen siblings. She was the mother of Hope Ray, Carol Ducre, Beverly Laurent, Craig Casborn, Gerald Casborn, Myrna Laurent, Denise Cousin, Dedra Hayes and Noreen Reyes. She leaves to cherish her memory; eight daughters and two sons, twenty-three grandchildren; T.J., Heather, John, Marlon, Ike Jr., Darcel, Isiah, Lira, Srilan, Marie, Anthony, Gerald, Lee, Dale, Tara, George, Bradley, Frannie, Floyd Jr., Becky, Gabrielle, David and Emanuel. She is survived by one brother; Eddie Cousin Jr., two sisters-in-law; Irma Laurent Cousin and Lucille Batiste Cousin, a host of nieces and nephews and godchildren Ruby Ducre Gethers, Roger Ferrier and Sherman Williams. Elvina was a very strong-willed, hard working person. She loved cooking, music, dancing, playing cards and socializing with friends and family. She had many hobbies including crocheting, painting, fishing and gardening. She loved cats and took in many strays over the years well into her eighties. Elvina was known by many nicknames; Pella, Vina, Mims and Vina Bina. She had an extraordinary sense of humor. She will live forever in our memories. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at The Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time Internment following at The Lafontaine Cemetery, Lacombe, Louisiana
