Elena Gonzales

Elena Martin Gonzales passed away unexpectedly on Friday December 15, 2017 at the age of 60.  A native of New Orleans, LA, she was a long-time resident of Lacombe, LA and recently lived in Slidell, LA.  Elena was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. She was recently preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Gary Gonzales. She was also preceded in death by her father, Joseph Sidney Martin and mother, Argentina Vidaurreta Martin.  She is survived by her three sisters: Elizabeth Dickup of Pensacola, FL, Nancy Gros of Metairie, LA, and Lori Barbier of New Orleans, LA and one brother, Richard Martin of Mandeville, LA. Although she had no children of her own, Elena was the beloved aunt or "Mimi" to 9 nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She was also the proud 'pack leader' for three beloved chocolate labs. Elena was a longtime employee of the Delta Steamboat Company and CGB Enterprises. Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at 12:00 pm, Friday, December 22, 2017 in the Chapel of the Bagnell and Son Funeral Home, 75212 HWY 437, Covington, LA 70435.  Visitation will begin at 10:30 am until service time.
