Elaine S Rehmann

Slidell, Louisiana

Elaine S. Rehmann passed into Eternal Life on January 2, 2025. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Elaine, age 87, was a longtime resident of Slidell and a native of Lee, Pennsylvania born on the family farm to Webster and Thelma Snyder on September 17, 1937. They preceded her in death as well as two of her siblings Philip Snyder and Deborah S. German. She is survived by her two younger siblings Doris S. Klint and Ira Snyder, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Elaine married William H. Rehmann, Jr. on December 21, 1957. They were married for 53 years and raised four children - William H. Rehmann, III (Maryelizabeth), Stacie R. Schneider (Steve), Thomas W. Rehmann, Sr, and Alison R. Luparello (David). They have fifteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. Elaine was preceded in death by both her husband William Jr. and son William, III. She is survived by her remaining children and grandchildren. She shared her love of her faith, gardening, cooking, music, crafting and civic involvement with her children and grandchildren. In their retirement Elaine and Bill were blessed to be able to travel the world.

She was an active member of the community taking part in organizations and clubs. Elaine was a devoted and active member of Lamb of God Lutheran Church. She loved to sing and had an amazing voice, which led to several prominent roles at Slidell Little Theater. She sang with the New Orleans Symphony Chorus as well as local productions of Handel’s Messiah in Slidell. Other civic organizations she took part in include Slidell Republican Women and Slidell Ladies for Liberty.

Gardening was a favorite pastime of hers as well as cooking. There was always a new dish to try and it often included produce from her own garden. She participated in Garden, Homemakers and several Bridge Clubs.

A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate her life on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Slidell, LA. Visitation at 10 a.m. and Service to begin at 11 a.m.
